Vote Now for the 2020 Members and Volunteer of the Year

Posted on Feb. 4, 2020  /

These awards are kind of a big deal. And these nominees are the shit. We really couldn’t do what we do without them. Check out the nominees for AAF-KC Member of the Year, Ad 2 KC Member of the Year and Volunteer of the Year below. Then do the right thing and vote for the person you want to cheer the loudest for at the American Advertising Awards show on Saturday, February 15.

Andy Grollmes // AAF-KC Diversity & Inclusion Chair

Andy is a Senior Project Manager at Woodruff. For someone whose job requires him staying on top of creative teams to make sure timelines are being met, you’d think Andy would have quite the strong personality. But he is much more cool cat, than roaring lion. Not that he’s not well-heard. It’s just that he could be in the midst of the biggest timeline traffic jam you’ve ever seen, and no one around him would be any the wiser. Andy has been an AAF-KC member since 2015 and currently serves on the AAF-KC Board as the Diversity & Inclusion Chair.

Julia Thompson // AAF-KC Website Chair

Julia has immersed herself in AAF-KC since graduating from KU and officially joining the KC advertising community. Julia joined six years ago and is now in her third year serving on the Board of Directors. Currently, she’s spearheading the launch of a new platform that will integrate AAF-KC’s digital, email, financial and membership management efforts into a single system. Julia is a Senior Marketing Manager at the digital broker Mylo, helping to “revolutionize insurance to protect what matters.” In her free time, she serves as an advisor to students at NWMSU, explores the KC brunch scene and hangs out with her dog, Larry.

Jordan Warren // AAF-KC Event Finance Chair

Jordan joined Ad 2 Kansas City five years ago to grow her skills, network and get a leg up in the industry. After climbing the ranks through Ad 2, this is Jordan’s first year on the AAF-KC Board. Serving as Event Finance Chair, she's involved in every event the organization hosts. Her skillset as a Marketing Copywriter at DEG, an Isobar Company has allowed her to step in as proofreader and provide guidance when planning out event communications. She drank the Ad 2 Kool-Aid and sees a long-term future with AAF — after all, she owes her last two jobs to the organization's network.

Catie Drummond // Ad 2 Professional Development Director

While most of Catie’s day-to-day is spent as a Project Manager at Signal Theory, she thrives when she gets to spend time with students hoping to break into the industry. Catie is no stranger to planning and executing projects and events from big to small. As Ad 2’s Professional Development Director, She has played a pivotal role in organizing student conferences and networking events like Spark KC and Match KC and plans to continue mentoring students throughout her career.

Matt Meier // Ad 2 Director of Fundraising

Matt is a born and raised Kansas Citian with a fondness for craft beer, analytics, and photography. Matt is proud to have been a part of Ad 2 KC since 2014, and was elected to the Council in 2018 as Director of Fundraising. You can find him at Ad 2 events as photographer-at-large, or casually socializing around the beer taps. Matt is an Analyst at Intouch Solutions, as well as a freelance photographer throughout the Kansas City area. When he’s not working, he’s desperately trying to get that song from The Witcher out of his head.

Brooke Purvis // Ad 2 Virtual Agency Co-Director

Brooke is a business marketing alumna from Northwest Missouri State University, and the current Project Manager at Propaganda3, Kansas City's premiere digital development company. As a Project Manager, her day-to-day job includes coordinating development schedules, managing project progress and account relations. She has also contributed to the social media efforts of Planet Comicon Kansas City, Boulevardia and Quixotic's Sensatia. While off work, she devotes her time to friends and family, her dog, cooking and Ad 2's Virtual Agency client, GreenWorks in Kansas City.

Anne Fundakowski // American Advertising Awards Co-Chair

Anne, a Kansas City native, enjoys working as a Digital Marketing Director at ad tech start-up, Mediavo, where she blends art and science to help drive business growth. Her endless energy and second calling in event coordination has made her an integral volunteer on the American Advertising Awards (AAAs) planning committee this year. When she isn’t devoted to work or the AAAs, you’ll find her with a book in hand, daydreaming of the beach, or playing with her husband and corgi.

Terisia Hicks // Ad Hops Co-Chair

Nothing gets past Terisia. She calls out inefficiencies and oversights in projects before anyone else even sees them coming, and is the one you want on your team in a crisis. As a current Ad Hops co-chair, Terisia designs all communications and oversaw the transition into the new Ad Hops branding. She has been involved with Ad 2 for 3 years, designing everything from logos to websites for the Virtual Agency, or being a helping hand at AAF-KC events. Her work with Ad 2 helped her land her new role as a Designer at Barkley. Above all, Terisia gets the work done and is crucial support (design and otherwise) for her teammates.

Hailey Stepanek // Ad Hops Co-Chair

Hailey’s rain-or-shine attitude has made her invaluable to the Ad Hops team this year, and Ad 2 as a whole for the past 3 years. When she commits, she shows up, follows through, and does the work that no one else wants. Last year as part of Ad 2’s Virtual Agency, she led a small group to design and built the Drexel Hall website from scratch. This year, as an Ad Hops Co-Chair, Hailey is dedicated to making the happy hours more welcoming to new members. Above all, Hailey is a team player: she’s flexible, no nonsense, and conscientious of others’ time and energy. Hailey is an Online Learning Content Developer at CD2 Learning

Rules for Voting: You must be an AAF-KC or Ad 2 KC member in good standing with all dues up to date to vote. You may only vote for one person in each category and you may only vote one time. Voting closes at 5pm on Friday, February 7.
