Woodruff Sweitzer and True Media have been selected by the City of Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau (CVB) to create and implement a comprehensive marketing communications program to raise awareness of the City of Columbia as a travel destination.
Woodruff Sweitzer will work with the CVB to further develop the Bureau’s brand and create a communications campaign distributed through television, radio, print and interactive outlets. True Media will manage the media planning and placement of the campaign.
“The Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau strives for economic growth in the surrounding community through travel and tourism,” said Amy Schneider, director of the Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau. “As clear leaders in marketing and media, Woodruff Sweitzer and True Media are passionate about growing tourism in Columbia and we believe they will help us achieve our goals.”
“Woodruff Sweitzer’s deep knowledge of Columbia, our experience producing headline events that are major draws to the area and our love for this city, all provide the desire and inspiration to promote the City of Columbia as a travel destination,” said Steve Sweitzer, chief creative officer, Woodruff Sweitzer. “Through these experiences, we will help the CVB meet its goal to propel tourism for the City of Columbia and the surrounding area.”
The CVB’s mission is to serve as an economic driver through the development of Columbia and Boone County as a destination. The goal of the Bureau’s efforts is to encourage the development of tourism, increase overnight travel and occupied rooms in Columbia hotel/motel properties.
