Exciting news and honors for our friends at Trozzolo Communications Group! Read on...
River City Studio (RCS), a Kansas City-based Web development agency, has merged its operations with Trozzolo Communications Group, a full-service marketing firm. The two agencies entered into a business continuation agreement effective April 16, 2012.
With the merger, Trozzolo gained six new associates from River City Studio, adding significant talent and capabilities in digital design and technology. The new members have moved to Trozzolo’s headquarters.
“It is analytics, technology and strategic consulting that power our ability to create modernbranding, advertising and public relations,” said Angelo Trozzolo, president of the agency. “We are a small, independent agency doing what many of the large holding companies are doing – achieving scale. We believe we can achieve that scale while also maintaining our small-agency advantage.”
With this merger, Trozzolo is continuing to strengthen its technology team. In 2011, Wayne Kaufmanschmidt, a seasoned strategic Web developer, joined Trozzolo as digital strategy vice president. The addition of new staff from RCS accelerates thedevelopment of and further enhances the digital and technology services Trozzolo provides to its clients.
In addition to the recent merger, Trozzolo has been honored for the redevelopment of its new headquarters – The Gee Whiz Factory. Trozzolo’s new offices at 811 Wyandotte St. are quite old, built more than 100 years ago and home to a variety of Kansas City businesses before being vacated in the 1980s. The structure had become a downtown hulk, made heavier by everything from asbestos and pigeon droppings to sodden floors from a leaky roof.
A 20-month renovation preserved legacy icons such as the original tin ceiling and a wooden staircase while creating technologically linked, open workspaces that encourage collaboration and creativity.
The Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City (EDC) recognized Trozzolo for its commitment to downtown and the redevelopment of its headquarters at the 2012 EDC Cornerstone Awards on May 15. Trozzolo was named the winner in the Redevelopment category.
“This building was reward enough, but it’s fun to be honored among so many great companies and by a great organization,” said Trozzolo. “We couldn’t have accomplished what we did with our new headquarters without our committed partners. We’re grateful to Helix Architecture, McCownGordon Construction, Missouri Bank and all the others who helped us make our home efficient and effective as well as comfortable and beautiful.”
Trozzolo also recently received a Capstone Award, presented by the Kansas City Business Journal.
“This honor is especially gratifying because it measures more than building size or project dollars,” said Trozzolo. “Independent judges look at how a project helps shape the community, and that was an important part of our thinking from the start.”
