Callahan Creek Launches Revamped Site for Free State Brewing Company

Callahan Creek is proud to announce the launch today of a completely revamped, rewritten and redesigned website for its client Free State Brewing Company. In a serendipitous turn of events, the launch coincides with American Craft Beer Week 2012.
“We did a lot of research with craft beer enthusiasts and found that they wanted a glimpse at what life is really like in a brewery like Free State,” creative director Stefan Mumaw said. “To that end, the site contains lots of ways for people to interact with the brand and the people who make and sell the beer. It’s not just peddling information about malt and barley, it’s about letting beer fans hang out with Free State's people, with their brand and with their beers.”
The site was rebuilt from the ground up, using HTML5 and a content management system that Free State employees can update on their own.
“It was pretty important for us to be able to add content every week, sometimes every day,” said Free State’s owner-operator, Chuck Magerl. “What Callahan Creek did from a web strategy and design standpoint really shows off our unique perspective and who we are. Due to our new and growing distribution business, we really needed a site that could tell our story to an audience that may not know our history. And that’s what we got.”
Site visitors can watch videos from the brewmasters, who talk about how the beer is made and what makes it unique to Free State. And if they want to talk beer, fans can also post questions on Facebook or Twitter that will be answered by the real folks who work at Free State. And not to forget the brewer’s origin as a brewpub, you can view the menu and even put your name in for a table through the site.
“It was a big site and we had a lot of stuff we wanted to accomplish,” Mumaw said. “I’m really proud of our team and our client. Now, let’s pour a cold one. Seriously, let’s go!”
